As we have written about previously, there are some CPA License model changes on the horizon.
NASBA and AICPA both voted to go ahead with the new changes to the CPA license.
According to the Journal Of Accountancy,
“The model would require each CPA candidate to exhibit core skills in accounting, auditing, tax, and technology (see the graphic, “Proposed Model: Core Plus Disciplines”). Each candidate also would be required to show more in-depth skills and knowledge in one of the following three areas:
- Tax compliance and planning;
- Business reporting and analysis; or
- Information systems and controls.”
NASBA’s Board will hold a final vote in the summer of 2020.
However, CPA exam students should fear not – the CPA exam changes to reflect the new CPA license are scheduled for January 2024.
