Starting on April 1, 2017, the new CPA exam will be used by AICPA.
The SIMS are now a massive part of the CPA exam. This makes the exam harder for most candidates. Of course, we do not have any data on whether the SIMS will be adjusted downward to make them easier than SIMS from previous exams. I would think that this is a kink that will be worked out next year. For now, AICPA will probably want to get some data on student scores have changed under the new regime.
For the remaining testing windows this year here is when results will be issued:
